BREATHING THROUGH THE FRONT

Breathing through the Front is a proposal for an outdoor work for the 2013 show Plural Zone, at The Art Institute of Chicago in conjunction with Sculpture magazine’s annual conference. The piece uses a single motor to drive a lightweight plastic membrane in peristaltic motion, contracting and relaxing individual components, while drawing in, wrapping around, and moving air through the body of the work.
